How we compare

This article is not a ranking. Every supplier below has its own strength and its own market. We rely exclusively on what the companies themselves state on their websites and in public communication, and we leave out what we cannot verify. Where LetsLink is concerned, we describe our own offer. We deliberately leave prices aside: none of the four publishes a price list, and as we explain in this article, price depends heavily on the event.

PixMob

PixMob is the best-known name in the segment and operates worldwide, headquartered in Montreal and, according to public sources, with offices in the United States and in Europe as well. According to its own website the company is known for very large-scale shows and ceremonies, from sports finals to opening ceremonies, and it communicates extensively about sustainability, including a refurbishment programme and wristbands made from recycled material. Besides LED wristbands the range includes LED installations, an LED badge and light sticks. The website is available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese among others; there is no Dutch or Italian version.

CrowdLED

CrowdLED is based in the Netherlands and is part of the PixMob group, as the company states on its own website. It positions itself as the European, practical entry point within that group: LED wristbands, an LED Wand, an LED lanyard and an LED ball, driven over DMX512 combined with a radio signal. CrowdLED describes two formulas, a fully managed turnkey approach and a dry-hire formula where the client runs the show, and mentions its own visualiser software. The website is available in six languages, including Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

CrowdSync Technology

CrowdSync Technology is headquartered in New York and communicates in English only. The company uses a recognisable product range whose names all start with 'Crowd', such as CrowdBand and CrowdBadge, and offers LED solutions for venues and RFID integration alongside wearables. The website has separate pages per industry (music, sports, corporate, houses of worship) and the references it shows come mostly from the American sports and music world. CrowdSync publishes a sustainability pledge around recycling, reusing and refurbishing.

LetsLink develops, rents and sells LED wristbands and related event technology from Corda Campus in Hasselt, Belgium, with its own R&D team. The distinction we make ourselves: our wristbands are rechargeable. After the event they are recharged, cleaned and used again, with no disposable battery. To our knowledge that makes us the first and only supplier in Europe with rechargeable LED wristbands. We also work on the open DMX512 protocol, so any lighting desk can drive the wristbands, we deliver across Europe and our website is available in six languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Alongside wristbands we offer LED lanyards, LED balls and Railing Lights for arenas.

Which supplier fits your event?

If you are looking for a partner for a world tour or a stadium ceremony with tens of thousands of guests, it makes sense for PixMob to be on your list. If you work in North America with strong ties to the sports world, CrowdSync is an obvious name. If you are looking for a practical DMX solution in Europe with local support, CrowdLED and LetsLink are both relevant. The difference then lies in the details: rechargeable or reusable, rent or buy, and the way the show is integrated with your own lighting desk.

Our advice is simple: put the same questions to every supplier. How does the control work and does it fit our lighting desk? What happens to the wristbands after the event? What about delivery and return at our venue? And in which language can we work with you? The answers make the difference visible. If you want to know how we answer those questions, read about our technology or request a quote straight away.
